Just a Tuesday Night???

My 4 Girls...................

So let it be known......this is my first attempt at composing a blog. Bear with me. I have found myself searching for answers that do not have questions. I am enjoying life. Recently, Kristi and I took the girls up to the Locks. This picture is from the top of the fish ladder. I find myself wondering......Why.....How......Is such a beautiful, creative, inspiring, alluring, radiantly awesome woman in love with me? She is amazing. I digress, we had a lot of fun. It was so cold in this picture.....the wind was blowing, snowing, and we loved every minute of it. In case your wondering, I am at home tonight with the girls. They are asleep. We had some dinner, did a little homework, watched a little Gumby, and now they are snoring. Kristi is with Emily tonight, they are cutting and coloring her hair. A new color?? A new style?? We will have to wait and see. So I must cut this a little short.....Ella just woke up and Kristi is on the phone.
Happy Blogging people.

And Goodnight.

D

P.S. I love You.

...twirl dresses... one baby fish and tons of smiles...

...and the weekend was great.

we had a blast with the girls. friday night we went to bingo night at lily and chloe’s school, arthur jacobsen elementary. it was a little intense, but fun! lily did win bingo once- that was rad for her. ella’s attention span for bingo lasted about, oh 3 and a half minutes. about as long as she is old.

saturday was a rockin’ day too. lily had a soccer game in the morning and she played really well. the team unfortunately lost- but it was great practice. we then cruised up to ravenna where my great friend sonja runs zeek’s pizza. she hooked us up with a great time. we had terrific pizza which we destroyed, and a little soda pop... and sonja wrapped up our trip with asking one of her pizza makers to ‘do a show’ for the girls. he tossed the dough so high; they loved it! she also gave us all some dough to play with. the girls pretty much thought that was the coolest thing since... well, cooked sliced bread.

we cruised a bit around northgate mall just to give the girls something to do... we stopped at macy’s. the girls had an absolute hey-day trying on ‘twirl dresses’. they all tried on some of the fanciest dresses they could find. dave picked out some gorgeous dresses for them to model in. we had a blast and we didn’t even buy any dresses! we headed home and the girls were tired... modeling is a rough job. they fell asleep with a quickness...

sunday was just as fun but a bit colder. we headed out to the lock’s! the girls had never been. this was their second trip to the city in one weekend... lily said she wanted to live in seattle. it was freezing cold- when we left auburn it wasn’t too cold (although i should’ve taken a clue from my mother’s text asking if it was snowing....). so we got to the lock’s and we bundled up... thankfully there were some avid boaters aka crazy people on the water so the girls could see how the lock’s work. lily and chloe were pretty amazed at the whole thing. we then went down to the fish ladder and there were no fish. well, there was this baby little fish that i think ella might have spied first. we were surprised to see that there weren’t any fish, because the booming voice overhead in the fish ladder area told us that one breed should be traveling january though may. psssh. disappointing but it’s just another thing to go back and do in the summer time. we snapped a few pictures and hit the road. we cruised to archee mcphees and the girls (okay all of us!) had a blast. such a goofy store. they have this weird gadget/science-y section that we all thought garrett would love. hopefully we can take him there sometime.

that wrapped up our weekend.... it was busy, full and tons of fun.

dave and i have the open house at the euro institute tonight. i’m very stoked to see the facility and meet some instructors and students. we’ll see where this adventure leads...

happy monday everyone. hope your weekend was swell. enjoy the sun... i hear it’s going to be gone again soon.

*sonja* i’m smiling especially big for you.

.a cold thursday.

third time’s a charm.

we’ve got chloe’s ballet class tonight. she’s loving it. lily is still having a bit of an issue sitting in such a confined space for an hour. we try to remind her that chloe is doing the same thing while she’s playing soccer. we’ll see how she does tonight. i missed seeing chloe’s first class because of the horrible traffic conditions due to all the flooding. but I did catch a bit of the second class and I should be able to make most of it tonight. i did have to remind dave that ballet slippers are not to be worn outside. i carried chlo to the car last week. :)

we had promised the girls a hike or something fun outside this weekend if it wasn’t raining. i hear there is a slight chance of some precipitation and it’s supposed to be pretty dang cold. we all are pretty good at bundling up and hittin’ the road. dave and I thought about the locks- the girls still haven’t been. we were lucky enough to acquire some rad hiking books from my dad. and the girls are anxious to do a hike. it would be cold, but a good event nonetheless.

there is a church within walking distance from dave’s and we’ve talked about visiting that church and seeing how we like it. it may be a good weekend for that.

no news on the work front for dave. he just sits on the list, union dues are still due. then he waits some more. i know he is anxious to be working again, i know this doesn’t feel awesome for him. we have some great support around us and i’m working! so i’ll count my blessings instead of sheep. (who knows what that’s from? anyone? bueller?)

work for me is amazingly slow. our offices in china will be on their holiday break for chinese new year next week. many of the factories that are making our shoes are on holiday now too, they usually take anywhere from one to three weeks off. a lot of time not all the workers will return to the factories after the holiday... i haven’t really heard much of an explanation as to why- but it can affect our production. cross your fingers this year is a smooth transition.

(it’s quite cold in my office today.)

(amber would argue it’s cold everyday though.)

dad invited dave and i to a hockey game next weekend, friday night. and then it’ll be church with grams again on sunday. maybe we can take her grocery shopping after... or just go for her.

dave and i rsvp’ed to an informational night at the euro institute of skin care for one week from monday. i’m very excited to see the school and meet some instructor’s and students. i could see this being an amazingly rewarding profession. not to mention the perks i’d be able to offer family and friends. i’ll keep you updated after the open house at the institute.

dave is working on the kitchen, i think it will be just about finished up tonight! i wish i had a before picture so i could show you how much better it looks. guess you’ll just have to trust me.

farewell.

happy thursday.

.a bit scattered.

well. blog number two.

let’s give it a go. dave and i had a great weekend. we spent time with friends and family. we had an especially rad day on sunday. we got to spend time with my grandmother, susy. and also visit quite extensively with ma/carl/eric and then with dad/ana. i thoroughly enjoy my time with my family and they’ve been amazingly supportive in all i’ve done. they have really shown amazing amounts of compassion, support and help in the last year of my life with all the changes. thank you.

we also got to spend some time with our good buds ambo and bevan. hokay, hokay- amber and evan. they have an adorable new place over in redmond. i was glad to finally see it, it’s really way cute. amber was gracious enough to take dave and i to malt & vine in redmond, for their beer tasting! what a rad little shop with quite the array of booze. (plus it was only 4 tastings for ONE DOLLAR. yup- you read that right.)

i was jotting things down in my calendar and realized that we get to have lily on her birthday! i am SO excited to be able to plan something for her. dave and i plan on talking to her about it tomorrow and seeing what she’d like to do. after the recent tournament-esque Thanksgiving-Bowl with the Schaeperkoetter-Detert’s we thought Lil may be stoked to do a bowling birthday. we’ll see how it all goes! even if we just do a family birthday bowl-sesh it should be a blast. that may be the first time dave will get to rock his first pair of his own bowling shoes, avec skulls of course.

dave is at the house finishing up painting the kitchen. i don’t know if i told you in the last blog that the color is called ‘posh red’. it’s pretty rockin’. we used a little Christmas money to replace the outlet covers- SO excited for those (i’m learning it really is the little things in life...). i’m excited to get home and see the progress. if johnny walker ends up stopping by- i fear the progress might not be as great. except dave is still recovering from his fall last week, don’t think they’d hit the skate park today. i do like that they have time to visit though.

we’re stoked for dave’s cousins, wayne and marsha- we think it’s pretty set that they are good-to-go at an apartment complex near his sister. from what we hear, this could be a great place for them. we are very glad they have found some place they are excited about and we’re very excited to get the two rooms they currently occupy up and running for dave’s girls. i picked up this wicked long shag rug from the marketing department here at work. every once in a while they need to empty their closets so they send out an email and people go running! i scored some pretty wicked stuff this go ‘round. Dave and i were thinking about putting that pink rug in the bathroom and making that the punky-rocker-girls bathroom... we’ll see. but now that i think about it, that is also the guest bathroom.... dangit. it may not end up being quite as punky. :)

well... i think i’ll post it here. hopefully i’ll get some pictures up on this thing soon. we’ve got some great ones of the girls... and dave and i.

happy monday.

.first blog of my life.

well here i am. blogging. i wish i was with my dave hope. i wish we were doing this together. i think we will end up doing so. he is at home right now, cleaning, working, surfin' the net. i am here at work, blogging, working hard.

one.more.hour.

i think it'll be a relaxing night tonight. dave and i need it. we get very excited and anxious to start and complete projects. we've painted the kitchen, it's a rockin' red instead of that putrid seafoam color that was in there before. dang the cupboard nobs, they still match the prior putrid-ness. dave's home has improved leaps and bounds from where it was some short 9 months ago. he has done an amazing job, and worked very hard. i think we make a great team.

dave and i are going to make a list of goals tonight. he had a financial advising team (a married couple) visit his school for an informational seminar of sorts. they recalled that one of their best tools in their lives has been a constant list of goals; big/small, emotional, spiritual, financial... anything. i'm very excited to compose our list and keep chiseling things off of it and adding new and exciting goals.

i'll think i'll wrap up here. maybe dave and i will write more together later.

first blog a success? not sure.
